Bringing Health Back Into Your Life
At Living Well Chiropractic Coffs Harbour we are all about bringing health back into your life. We have two chiropractors who are both dedicated to improving the health of the local Coffs Coast community. Chiropractic care aims to improve the function of your spine and joints, reducing irritation to your nerves so that your body can get back to working at its best—and you can get back to enjoying life, with less pain and better function.
Aches and pains, tight, knotted muscles, postural tension, headaches, poor co-ordination, recurring injuries and problems with balance can all be indicators that your body is in need of chiropractic care. Our chiropractors aim to get to the source of your pain and dysfunction, helping you to get moving again and achieve your health goals. They can guide you through home rehabilitation exercises and lifestyle changes that will help you stay at your best.
Common Conditions
Neck Pain - Postural Stress
Neck pain caused by poor posture can lead to stiffness, fatigue and recurring discomfort that affects daily life. Chiropractic adjustments and posture correction strategies help restore comfort and mobility.
Back Pain - Sciatica
Sciatica creates radiating pain from the lower back down the leg, often caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve. Chiropractic care can help to relieve this pressure and restore healthy movement.
Migraines & Headaches
Headaches and migraines are often linked to spinal tension, muscle stress and nerve irritation. Chiropractic care targets these causes to reduce frequency and improve quality of life.
Sporting Injuries
Sports injuries can limit movement, performance and recovery time. Chiropractic care provides targeted treatment, rehabilitation exercises and preventative advice to help athletes return stronger and reduce the risk of re-injury.
Pregnancy & Babies
Pregnancy changes can place stress on the spine and pelvis, while babies may experience tension from birth. Gentle chiropractic care supports comfort for mothers and healthy development for infants.

A History of Chiropractic
Daniel David Palmer performed the initial chiropractic adjustment in September 1895. He was a magnetic healer at the time, and had been treating a janitor who had been deaf for 17 years after he felt something "give" in his back. Palmer examined the area and gave a crude "adjustment" to what was felt to be a misplaced vertebra in the upper back. The janitor then observed that his hearing improved.
From that first adjustment, DD Palmer continued to develop this new treatment, naming it "Chiropractic" which is Greek for "done by hand". In 1897 he established the Palmer College of Chiropractic located in Davenport, Iowa, where it remains today. Not surprisingly, many people became interested in Palmer's new science and healing art.
Since this time, chiropractic has developed into one of the most popular natural care modalities in the world. It is currently taught in four Universities within Australia, where graduates spend at least five years studying subjects such as anatomy, physiology, radiology, neurology and specialist chiropractic subjects. Once qualified, chiropractors stay up to date with the latest research and development by doing courses and continuing education every year.
